A Custom PLC, the best of 2 worlds

Because PLCs for serial productions are (too) expensive, we develop custom-made electronics for those applications as embedded PLCs. Such electronics can be programmed in the same way and with the same languages as other PLCs.

Therefore the best of 2 worlds!

Business-case
With quantities of 50 units per year, you will recoup the one-off costs in approx. 2 years.
With quantities of 100 units per year, within approx. 1 year.

Save on electronics with a custom-made circuit board

A PLC is often used as a machine control system. The disadvantages are the high cost, the excessive internal cabling and the installation space. Merging all the electronics on a single PCB has enormous advantages. It reduces both internal wiring and assembly time, space requirements and simplifies procurement. Moreover, the electronics are then already fully tested.
A major cost saving!

Save on your programming

Your current solution (or prototype) is probably built with a standard PLC and thus programmed in PLC language. Unlike other custom electronics programmed in C/C++, our electronics can handle PLC language. This means that your current programme can be taken over. This saves costs and reduces the likelihood of teething problems.

Capabilities like embedded controller

We optimise the processing of data from the inputs and outputs for your device. With a standard PLC, this cannot be done that way.
For example, we use the fast analogue inputs and outputs, which gives a big advantage especially in compact controllers.
Signal calculations such as RMS, phase, real and reactive power and fuse characteristics can be calculated by the controller itself, which saves (expensive) external components.

Future-proof

You are more than likely going to use your device for many years and you may want to make improvements or modifications in the future. By using PLC software, you can also make changes yourself without losing communication time with suppliers or external programmers. Making modifications becomes a matter of hours instead of weeks. Moreover, PLC programming language is taught on many engineering courses, making PLC programmers more readily available than C/C++ programmers.

Making a ‘custom PLC’ is done through an Electronics design. That will then give you the circuit board that can be inserted into an enclosure, or directly into the device.
